About Us
Del Valle Dog Club of Livermore, Pleasanton, CA, March 15, 1998 Monika StachonMonika Stachon had two borzoi that she imported as puppies, Fiedka from Russia and Sawa (pronounced "Sava") from Poland in 1990 as fulfillment of a life long dream to have Borzoi. Jonnie BradleyJonnie Bradley had acquired her first two young American bred borzoi in 1989 (Remus and Nadya). She and Monika were both living in Flagstaff, Arizona when they met through their veterinarian. Jonnie was just beginning to show her borzoi and Monika accompanied her to these shows, a friendship began and they formed "Steppes Borzoi" in 1992. Steppes Borzoi was chosen as the kennel name because Borzoi are native to Russia, a country with a vast, seemingly endless region of open grasslands, called the "steppes" where Borzoi could run for miles. Fiedka was imported directly from this region of Russia, so it seemed doubly appropriate as a kennel name. Contact:Jonnie Bradley - steppes@wildblue.net Monika Stachon - Monikandborzoi@yahoo.com
