Aprilia (CH Aprilia Steppes Moonlight Muse)

apriliaAprilia (CH Revelstone Gabriel O’Bokhara X CH Steppes Moonlight Serenade) is a perfect representation of living up to one’s name. She is impish in every way, coy, mischievous, inquisitive and has acquired several nicknames due to her antics. She is called “Olive Oil” since we had to replace the carpeting in the house as she took the olive oil bottle from the counter and joyfully tossed it around all over the living room. We have put up 8’ fences to contain her in the winter with snow build up, secured at both top and bottom, surrounding the 4 acres of yard where the dogs play.

She is called “Pill-ya” because she is a pill. There are two thoroughly chewed steering wheels in our vehicles. A modified door trim panel, chewing on the hall tree and hand rail in the entry way, my wooden jewelry box, the atlas from the bookshelf (planning her cross-country jaunt?) All edible items (tomatoes, bananas, etc.) are all confined in the pantry. The roof to the woodshed adjacent to the dog run is barricaded so she doesn’t climb up there and get out when the snow builds up. The cookie jar is history and the sugar bowl was glued back together.

“Gopher Torturer” because she catches them and puts them in the pond. They have a choice, swim to the shore and become borzoi fodder, or drown. She walks along with them as they swim, waiting for them to come back to her. Luckily, she doesn’t catch many gophers.

But, she is a beautiful girl, maturing nicely into a top flight show dog with lots of attitude and pizzazz in the ring, and she is becoming more trustworthy in the house. Outside, she is dynamic and never tires, keeping herself entertained after she has worn out her brothers in play. And, she is really very sweet, cooperative to work with and is quite a character.
