Nadya (Czarcreste Nadya)
Nadya was confident and silly with a wonderful sense of humor. She was perceptive and a devoted companion. Everyone loved Nadya and she passed her character to both her sons and daughters, bringing an indescribable joy and enthusiasm to those who were lucky enough to own them.
Technically, everything that is Steppes Borzoi is due to Nadya. If Jonnie hadn’t acquired her, she wouldn’t have had Remus as a mate, would not have met Monika, would not have shown dogs and would never have bred borzoi. When Nadya was around and we’d be dealing with a borzoi-related issue, we would all look at Nadya and say, “It’s all your fault, you know!” - to which she would smile at us and snap her jaws and toss her head as if to say, “Ha, ha, ha! Czarcreste Nadya was Jonnie’s first borzoi. Nadya charmed us all and taught us just what being owned by a borzoi is all about. Nadya had opinions, knew exactly what she wanted and how to get it. She had personality that didn’t quit her entire 15 years and left an impression on everyone she met. Nadya could and did go everywhere, meet anyone, be around any kind of creature - all off lead - and be completely trustworthy and capable of dealing with anyone and anything that life brought her way. She was Miss Congeniality in the truest sense of the phrase. 
Nadya was a beautiful borzoi but it wasn’t until many years later that we recognized her show qualities, because she was such an ideal companion, there was no need for anything else. She already had a career as an entertainer, keeping us laughing at her antics and astounded by her cleverness.
