Sheba (CH Sheba Siren of the Steppes)
Sheba was a gorgeous long-legged Russian aristocrat with exotic eyes. She was much like an Amazon warrior, a big beautifully proportioned female (32” at the shoulder), fiercely protective if required, and a sophisticated confident lady the rest of the time. If ever I was forced to choose just one temperament in all my dogs, it would be hers. She was fantastic. Sheba was intuitive and stable. She chased cats but never hurt one, so I'd send her after them to scare them away before the boys saw them. Always a congenial, cooperative and a delightful companion whom you could take anywhere. If you told Sheba to stay somewhere and then left the area, after a while you would realize she hadn’t followed, go looking for her, and find her exactly where you told her to “stay.” It always makes you feel guilty when you forget you have left stuck at your command somewhere! She never took anything she wasn’t supposed to have - very strange behavior for any dog. If you had to give her a pill, she’d sift through anything to find it, but if you said, “Oh Sheba, you know you have to take that pill or I’m gonna have to shove it down your throat!” she would drop her head in resignation and pick up the pill she had spit out and swallow it. Sheba would do whatever you asked, but if it wasn’t a popular idea with her, she’d look down that long long nose at you and squint, as if to say, “Do I really have to?” It’s tough to say “Yes, you have to...” when facing that kind of charm. Sheba was mated to Remus (Remus Bizzi B De Lobo) and passed her size, quiet strength and intense mahogany red to her son, Aramis (CH Steppes Noble Aramis). Sheba's Pedigree Photos of Sheba
